Sinepanghalina to launch "Direk to the Point: The Art of Visual Storytelling"

Sinepanghalina is known for being an independent film production which composes of various passionate filmmakers and enthusiasts alike that aims to continue making quality socially relevant horror content for Filipino viewers. The team is also known through their multi-awarded short films "Ma?", "Dungaw" & "Bisperas" - which was recognized in various local and international film festivals and received notable awards and recognitions in said festivals.

As we are still amid the pandemic, their purpose to deliver their viewers socially relevant horror films have been put to a pause. With the situation at hand, they swerved in creating and continuously developing their Facebook and Instagram pages to provide horror and film content to their target market that aims to inform, educate, inspire and entertain. Their weekly programing is composed of different contents such as: Quote of the Week, Spooky Sunday Season 3, 8 Tips, Trendy Tuesday, Did You Know?, Random Wednesdays, Snappy Says, Thrilling Thursday, Fan Art Friday, Face-off Fridays, and Pocket Film School.

With their continuous success in growing and with 48,900 organic followers as of date, they transitioned to strengthen their presence in their social media sites and provide interesting content to their viewers.

As a form of appreciation to the online community, they will launch their first virtual live event entitled ‘Direk to the Point: The Art of Visual Storytelling’ which will happen on April 24, Saturday, 8 pm as they go live on their Facebook Page.

‘Direk to the Point: The Art of Visual Storytelling’ is a virtual directors roundtable where viewers have the chance to learn more about the art of filmmaking from some of the great visual storytellers in Philippine Cinema. Eight very talented film directors all in one live event - discussing techniques, experiences, insights, and a whole lot more!

The guest directors that will be joining the discussion are Direk Dan Villegas who is for his works such as Hintayan Ng Langit (2018), Changing Partners (2017) and Exes Baggage (2018), Direk Gino Santos who is famous for Ex with Benefits (2015), Sin Island (2018), and Love Me Tomorrow (2016), Direk Martika Escobar who is known for Pusong Bato (2014), Anatomiya ng Pag-ibig: Tisoy (2015), and Living Things (2020), Direk Rae Red who is known for Si Chedeng at Si Apple (2017) and Babae at Baril (2019), the one behind Siargao (2017), Mary, Marry Me (MMFF 2018); Love the Way U Lie (2020, Netflix), Alter Me (2020, Netflix) - Direk RC Delos Reyes, Direk Rod Marmol who directed Mata Tapang (2018) and Cuddle Weather (2020), Direk Siege Ledesma whose film Shift (2013) won Best Picture at the 2014 Osaka Asian Film Festival and Direk Sigrid Bernardo famous for her the blockbuster film, Kita Kita (2017), Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita (2013) and UnTrue (2019). It is hosted by Ron Rayton who is known for his podcast ‘CineFiles’.
