Shangri-La Plaza welcomes the Pundaquit Virtuosi of CASA San Miguel youth orchestra to the Grand Atrium on September 8 at 7PM for a special musical treat on Grandparents Day!
Pundaquit Virtuosi is a Zambales-based string orchestra composed of Filipino youth aged 11 to 23, under the baton of Maestro Ruggero Barbieri, and with Filipino violinist extraordinaire Alfonso ‘Coke’ Bolipata as its founder and artistic director. The orchestra is from CASA San Miguel, the community-based art center Bolipata founded in 1993 to help the residents of a fishing village following the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.
The ensemble along with Barbieri and Bolipata recently wrapped up their six-week European tour across 8 countries and 17 venues, receiving bravos and standing ovations. With a repertoire of famous classical music and timeless traditional Filipino pieces, the string orchestra surely has something for all ages!
#FeelTheShangVibe and bring the grandparents out on a date at Shangri-La Plaza on September 8 with nothing but a world-class performance from Pundaquit Virtuosi, Bolipata, and Barbieri.
