Roses For Ben' New OPM Musical About HIV Set To Open June 15

Ben has everything he's ever wanted. A high-paying job, a loving relationship, and friends he can always count on. But there's a catch... he's HIV positive. Will life ever be the same? This is his story.

Artist Playground Arts and Performances in partnership with the Red Whistle and Twelfth Studios proudly presents "ROSES FOR BEN," a new, original OPM musical about HIV awareness for Gay Pride Month 2019.
Rayne Jarabo, a young Communication Arts from the University of Santo Tomas wrote the Book and Lyrics of 'Roses for Ben' with Musical Direction by Jesse Lucas, Assistant Musical Direction by Arnold Bacsal, Choreography by Lezlie Dailisan and direction by Roeder Camanag.
"Roses For Ben" will be held on June 16 & 22 (Saturday) 7 p.m. and June 17 & 23 (Sunday) 7 p.m. at the Arts Above, 112 West Avenue Quezon City.
'ROSES FOR BEN' cast are Jude Matthew Servilla and Benj Espina, who will alternately play the lead role of Benny Boy 'Ben' Maglaque Jr., a 21-year-old closeted gender-fluid, who works as a personal assistant in an entertainment company; he was eventually contracted with HIV, as soon as he finds his late ex-boyfriend died of AIDS.
Beulah Mae Saycon will play the role of Alice, a hotel singer whose dream is to be a well-known artist in the country; Ben's girlfriend, who's probably in her to 20s.
Mirriam Reyes will play the role of Denise, Alice's sister who works at the corporate industry; she eventually had a sexual affair with an aged owner of an entertainment company in exchange for money.
Kim De Las Alas will play the role of Lance, Denise's husband; a seemingly bad-boy type who has stereotypical featuresof an apathetic and indolent spouse.
Bobby Martino and Jerome Fugoso shall alternately play the two roles: Sir Wency, the multimillionaire owner/ CEO of Agapi Entertainment Company, Denise's secret sugar daddy in his 40s; and Mang Boyet/ Benny Boy Maglaque Sr., Ben's father, a widowed old man in his 40s.
Dene Gomez will play the role of Dave, Ben's late ex-boyfriend who died of AIDS; he is the triggering consciousness and cause of Ben's nightmares.
Ken Del Prado and Christian Silang will alternately play the role of Jess, Ben's best friend, who is the most inquisitive and clownish characters in the story; he could be identified straight, confused or bi-curious.
Nikki Herrera plays the role of Ms. Queenie, the production manager/ gossip mother of Agapi Entertainment Company.
April Jasmin Rosales plays the role of Cecile, Dave's bestfriend who works at Agapi Entertainment Company.
April Jasmin Rosales & Jerome Fuguso (Ensemble/ Muses - different individuals playing as Ben's figures of consciousness and other emotions, and various civilians.)
