Repertory Philippines or REP opens the curtain of its 2018 season with the rollicking, operatic farce A Comedy of Tenors, a production that packs laughs thanks to its whip-smart writing and larger-than-life ensemble of characters.

Set in 1930’s Paris, the hilarious play by Tony Award-winning genius Ken Ludwig is a sequel to his acclaimed work Lend Me A Tenor and brings together a crew of colorful personalities whose quirks and qualms are sure to entertain you throughout the show.

REP’s first offering of the season starts with an Italian opera superstar going missing close to opening night. His hotblooded wife, their daughter and her lover, a frazzled assistant, and the harassed producer then cross paths with three famous tenors with egos of operatic proportions.

As expected, chaos ensues, and the group finds themselves entangled in secret love affairs, mistaken identities, and romantic misunderstandings—all in one hotel room.

Miguel Faustmann directs the cast of crazy characters as they bring mayhem to the stage. REP’s rising talents and theater veterans bring the comedy to life, including Loy Martinez, Jeremy Domingo, Noel Rayos, Issa Litton, Mica Pineda, Arman Ferrer, and Shiela Martinez.

Don’t miss this uproarious REP production, running from January 26 to February 18 at the Onstage Theater, Greenbelt 1.
