The Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) and its flagship program that promotes digital literacy, DigiBayanihan, organize the Ten Photos to Shake the World (TPSW) 2018 photo contest with aim of promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Submission of entries is open from July 17 to August 26, 2018.
Established in 2012, TPSW aims to raise awareness on the most pressing development issues and to highlight viable solutions through compelling photographs. Now on its 7th year, TPSW continues to serve the same goals with the theme, “Digitalizing Development: Innovations for Inclusive Societies.” Participants are encouraged to capture how digital technology improves the lives of youth, women, rural communities, and persons with disabilities.
TPSW 2018 is open to professional and non-professional photographers from the Asia-Pacific region. Entries will be accepted until August 26, 2018 at 12:00PM HKT/SGT/PHT. The awarding ceremony will be held on September 5, in conjunction with the Digital Development Forum (DDF) 2018 hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in partnership with ASSIST. DDF 2018 brings together over 300 delegates and over 60 ICT and sectoral thought leaders for high impact discussions on ICT for development.
Hozun Paik, one of the event organizers said, “TPSW is a great venue to align creative expression with empowering solutions to the most pressing development issues.“ Registration to the photo contest is free and participants have a chance to win as much as $500.
