Learning the Ropes of Statistics: A Webinar Training on Statistics for the Social Sciences

This four-hour webinar lecture/ demonstration introduces the participants to advanced statistical analysis. Each topic will be introduced through a five-minute lecture followed by a demonstration on the use of Stata/R to perform linear regression and regression diagnostics, regression with categorical dependent variables (logit and probit models), factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Apart from discussing the various statistical tests, the training will also familiarize the participants with the nuts and bolts of the research process, from the identification of appropriate research design to report writing. Participants in the webinar are expected to have their own laptop/computer to be able to navigate the dataset that will be provided for the hands-on training.
