Every year, General Santos City denotes its establishment commemoration on February 27 with different exercises coming full circle the weeklong festival of Kalilangan Festival. The commemoration festivity remembers the arrival of the city's organizer, General Paulino Santos, alongside the primary pioneers from Luzon, at the shores of Sarangani Bay.
